Caption.im is a desktop application that provides real-time captions, transcription, and translation powered by local AI models. The App is designed with a privacy-first architecture where audio processing occurs entirely on your device.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Caption.im. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Caption.im for personal or professional purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App

Certain features of Caption.im may require a subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees as described in our pricing.

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store
• Refunds are subject to Apple's App Store refund policies

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data.

Caption.im processes all audio locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit audio recordings, transcripts, or personal conversations.

All intellectual property rights in the App, including but not limited to software, design, logos, and content, are owned by INNAIO France or its licensors.

Transcripts and captions generated by the App from your audio belong to you.

You agree not to use Caption.im to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law
• Record or transcribe conversations without the consent of all parties where required by law
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks related to the App

Caption.im uses AI-powered models for transcription and translation. While we strive for high accuracy, we do not guarantee that captions or translations will be error-free.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We may release updates, patches, or new versions of Caption.im from time to time. These updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to existing functionality.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time without prior notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, INNAIO France shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Caption.im.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Loss of data
• Loss of profits
• Business interruptions
• Device compatibility issues

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if users violate these Terms or misuse the service.

Upon termination, the license granted to you will immediately cease.

These Terms are governed by the laws of France and applicable European Union regulations, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updates will be published within the App or on our website.

Continued use of Caption.im after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
